First day of composing after finishing my doctoral dissertation! Work continued on Caitlin Bell's song cycle, Love's Torments. I reached my goal for 30s of new music today relatively quickly, but that's usually easier with slower pieces. Like five bars gets you 30s in the right conditions. I've reached a kind of stopping point, though, which means that composing on Monday might run into some speed bumps as I try to figure out the next phrase.
